During the development phase (2016-2018), SLCP received funding from the SAC; the C&A Foundation; Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs; and the Norges Bank Investment Management.
Since the beginning of 2019, SLCP has been implementing a 5-Year Strategic Plan that includes a roadmap for the Program to become self-sustaining by 2021. This will be achieved through volume-driven fees (linked to SLCP adoption) based on the number of verifications conducted & the number of verifiers and Accredited Hosts participating in the system.
In 2019, SLCP’s budget was made up of a small proportion of earned income and the rest was signatory donations. In 2020, funding was received for two specific projects: training roll-out and the Tool review.
