Some questions and answers about factory RBA VAP certification audit

1. Can RBA VAP certification apply for verification from domestic verification agencies?

Answer: A valid RBA Responsible Business Alliance Code of Conduct 6.0 Verification Report requires an application to RBA and an application through a verification company. The verification fee is paid to RBA. Different from ISO 9001 certification, companies cannot appoint a certification body and can only accept RBA assignments, such as SGS / Intertek / BSI and so on.

2. After the RBA certification audit is over, similar to applying for ISO certification, do you also get the certificate?

Answer: Yes. However, passing the VAP certification (Recognition Program) will not only get a certificate, but the certified manufacturer will get:

    1). Letter from the executive director of VAP.

    2). Certificate electronic file.

    3). A medal.

3. Does RBA VAP certification have levels?

Answer: RBA VAP certification is divided into three types of results: platinum, gold, and silver. The requirements for obtaining certification at all levels are as follows:

   (1) Platinum: VAP scored more than 200 points, all deficiencies have been corrected and the correction plan submitted to the EICC-ON platform;

   (2) Gold: VAP scored more than 180 points, has completed Priority and Major missing corrections and submitted the correction plan to the EICC-ON platform;

  (3) Silver: VAP has scored more than 160 points, has completed the Priority defect correction and submitted the correction plan to the EICC-ON platform;

The above three levels must complete the formal VAP audit and complete the lack of improvement and closure. Self-assessment (Auditee Managed Assessment, AMA) or Customer Managed Assessment (CMA) will not be covered by this certification.

4. How long is the validity period of the RBA VAP certification?

Answer: The validity period is 2 years, starting from the closing meeting of the initial audit.

5. If the factory is found to use child labor or forced labor, can it still meet the RBA VAP certification program?

Answer: If the factory completes the improvement of child labor or forced labor and passes the missing correction tracking audit, it can still obtain certification, but if it accepts unannounced audits within the next 12 months. If evidence of forced labor or child labor is found, the certification will be revoked.
